1 MONTH

At one month...
  • Time has flown! Where has it gone? I am feeling like I didn't enjoy each day enough...time is so precious and it is already passing too quickly. Below is a pic taken minutes after you were born...and then just a few hours later:
  • You have met lots of out of town friends and family including Gram (April 13), Aunt Debbie (April 22) and your cousins: John, Lily, and Maggie, Aunt Liz (May 2nd). Grandpa Chicago arrives this Friday (May 13)
  • You have been slow to gain weight, but have finally exceeded your birth weight and weigh in at 7lbs 9 oz. on May 9th
  • You LOVE taking showers with mommy. Daddy hands you off to mom and then waits to get you all dry and ready for bed.
  • April 24th- Your first easter- Gram and Aunt Deb and her family were in town. We all went over to grandma and grandpa Bateman's and had a great Easter, complete with an Easter egg hunt for John, Lily, and Maggie...and ham loaf!
  • You love to suck! You love your vitamin D drops and can suck the medicine out of the dropper without us releasing it.
  • You are discovering your tongue- you roll your tongue around and stick it out pretty much non stop. Most of the pics we have taken when you are awake are of you with your tongue out!
  • Your eyelashes have really grown. Daddy was the first to notice (April 28). You are also starting to have tears. When you throw a BIG FIT your eyes will well up with tears (May 10)
  • You follow voices and have started really "looking" into faces.
  • You love to "hold hands". Your long fingers grasp around one of our fingers and I LOVE when you do this.
  • Just this week you are starting to stretch out-you even separate your little toes
  • Favorite Toys-You love your sleep sheep ocean noise- not sure what we would have done without this! Thanks Jones family! You also love your musical giraffe that you got from Gram. You almost always calm down when we wind that up.
  • You sleep in your car seat- you much prefer this to your bassinet- mom and dad are sleeping much better now that we accepted your car seat as an acceptable sleep location.
  • Sleeping- Your sleeping is getting better, but still pretty sporadic. Most nights you sleep one stretch of 3-5 hours and sometimes you will sleep another 2 hour stretch (only sometimes). Your best night so far was May 5th (12am-4am and 5:30-8am)
  • Yesterday (May 10) marked the 7th year anniversary of when dad asked mom to marry him. What an amazing 7 years it has been.
  • Mommy and daddy are so in love with you. You seem to be changing and becoming more alert each day. We are loving watching you grow-just don't grow too quickly "honey bear" (as daddy has started calling you)
